Julie Spinnato, NCARB, LEED AP
Ms. Spinnato earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University. She founded Studio Spinnato, Inc. in 2007. She has designed remodels and residences in many parts of Colorado and New Mexico including the Denver Metro area, Parker, Durango and the Vail Valley. She is a LEED accredited professional and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
Prior to opening Studio Spinnato, Inc. Julie worked at architecture at firms in the Vail Valley including Davis Partnership Architects, RKD Architects, and Morter Architects. She has worked on the remodel of Vail Mountain Lodge and Spa, an extensive remodel of a icon Vail Village Lodge which includes a gourmet restaurant, premier athletic facility and high end condo units. She was also a designer for a 17,000 square foot, 3 story addition to Abiding Hope Lutheran Church in Littleton, Colorado. This $2.3 million addition to an existing sanctuary contains multi-purpose Gymnasium with adjacent warming kitchen, Junior and Senior High Youth Activity Rooms, a Nursery, Seminar room and multiple classrooms.
While employed at RKD Architects, Inc, Ms. Spinnato continued to grow her knowledge in commercial projects including Capitol Theater, a movie theater in Eagle, Colorado with retail, restaurant and loft spaces; Dillon Dam Brewery; Masthead Development and Mexico! Restaurant in Silverthorne, Colorado. She also helped with design for a variety of residential projects including Waterstone which was honored for Outstanding Achievement in Design Excellence by the American Institute of Architects Colorado West. Waterstone was also named one of the “Top 5 Built Projects in Colorado” by AIA Colorado Magazine in 2005.
At Morter Architects, Inc, Ms Spinnato was Project Architect for Arrowleaf Lodge A and B, two high end ski-in/ski-out condo buildings in Deer Valley, Utah totaling 140,000 SF. Arrowleaf A is 80,000 square feet with 1 underground parking level, skier locker room, hearth room and 28 condo units. Arrowleaf B is 60,000 square feet with 2 levels of underground parking, storage units, skier locker room, and 28 condo units. She worked on the design for some residences and residential remodels as well as the planning for the Commons, a development in the heart of Eagle, Colorado comprising a church, market, retail, residential and office spaces.
